Ride the Portugues Way and the Atlantic Coastal Camino to Santiao de Compostela in July.
This year we are offering the best ride available on the Camino.
Beginning in Porto in Portugal, you will ride for 14 days to finish at the Cathedral of St James in Santiago de Compostela.
What makes this route so special is the variation of landscapes and settlements; country tracks, coastal paths, superb sweeping beaches - a landscape peppered with tiny ancient hamlets, country villages, seaside towns, fishing ports and historic cities. The Camino Portugues is packed with history and culture - all to be enjoyed in the company of like-minded travellers from all over the world.
The coastal part of the Portugues Camino has been very recently resurrected and waymarked - this means that it is much less crowded that it's sister route Camino Frances across the north of Spain.
A special highlight of your horseback tour is the arrival at your destination, the momumental plaza of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
Our horses riders have special permission to ride right into the Plaza - it's an unforgettable experience - clattering along the cobbled streets of Santiago's medieval streets to arrive at the magnificent Cathedral early in the morning, before the main body of walking pilgrims arrive.
Your guide and host Jesus, knows every riding trail in Spain intimately - but above all the many trails of the Camino de Santiago and the service provided by his team is first class. A warm welcome is assured at all of our comfortable hotels, where you will be able toenjoy wonderful regional cuisine. The hotel and food in both countries is first rate and the support team travelling with you provide excellent service and care for the horses.
Our package is a fully-supported tour that includes:- airport pick-up, full board accommodation, horses and equipment, tour guide, support vehicle and luggage transfer.
You can also book this tour as a couple where one rides and the other doesn't.
Please ask us for details.

The Camino is packed with culture, history & spectacular landscapes
There is no comparable Christian pilgrimage route of such extent and continuity anywhere in Europe: the other two pilgrimage routes, to Jerusalem and Rome, are only recognizable in a very fragmentary fashion.
The entire route is brimming with culture, history and many sights to be seen. From Porto many small hamlets, villages and towns peppered along the route. Many festivals take place through the year and you may be lucky enough to encounter one on the Way.
Delicious gastronomy and wines
Your lodgings are hand picked by Jesus for their comfort, hospitality and wonderful local cuisine made with fresh local seasonal produce. And there is an abundance of small inns along the way, where you can enjoy the local food as you ride to your next destination.
Every villlage and town on the Camino has a variety of lively plazas with bars and restaurants, so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy the delicious Portguese and Spanish gastronomy and the variety of world-famous wines.
Santiago de Compostela is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Galicia's capital city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, Santiago de Compostela is the destination of the Way of St James pilgrimage, one of the major themes of medieval history in Europe.
From Scandinavia to the Mediterranean, millions have travelled to Santiago along many Caminos. Around the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, a masterpiece of Romanesque art, the city boasts a magnificent old town worthy of one of Christianity's greatest holy cities.
