We understand that the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19), is causing concern for everyone. During this unprecedented situation and we wish to assure you that the health and well being of our valued customers, our team and our many partners on all our Camino tours is our priority.

On 17th March the Government advised against all non-essential travel overseas, initially for a period of 30 days, due to the current Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak and later extended these restrictions indefinitely.  The UK is under lockdown to the 8th May 2020 and we have cancelled our trips up to and including that date.

The Walk The Camino team is working hard to contact all clients and reschedule all trips due to depart through April and May. We thank all those clients who have already contacted us to reschedule their tours on behalf of our UK Camino team and our friends and partners overseas. We will continue to work proactively with clients due to travel this summer, as the situation continues to be fluid. Our customer service team is available by email to discuss your concerns for future travel beyond these dates.

The situation is developing on a daily basis and will continue to develop over the coming weeks. The majority of our accommodation, transport and service providers have closed in order to protect their staff and customers.  

We are monitoring the advice of the UK Government, specifically the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the WHO (World Health Organisation) and taking guidance from ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents).

If you are travelling with us before end of May, you will have already been contacted. Please contact our Customer Service team and we’ll be able to help you:

  • Postpone your trip up to the end October 2021
  • Re-route to another destination up to the end October 2021
  • Get a credit note for the full value of your trip up to the end October 2021
  • If you decide not to travel, our usual cancellation terms apply – please see our booking conditions for full details. 

Please be aware that our home working team is extremely busy at the moment, so it might take a few days for your query to be processed if your travel dates are not imminent.

If you are travelling with us after May 2020:

If you are travelling with us later on this year,  our normal cancellation policy still applies.

For those clients with non-immediate travel bookings,  we will discuss options on a case by case basis in order of departure date.

Many of our clients have already rescheduled their trips and we thank them for their support at this time of crisis in the travel industry.

If you’re due to travel this summer, we recommend that you wait as the situation is developing daily and our team are prioritising customers currently travelling or due to depart shortly.


Booking Terms and Conditions

From 17th March and for an indefinite period,  the FCO travel restrictions are relevant for all our tours.  

You can contact your insurer to find out if you can make a claim. Some policies provide may include cover for travel disruption, in the event of exceptional circumstances. If you are concerned about a serious underlying medical condition or you are ill, you could contact your travel insurance provider to check your cover.

Some insurance policies may cover you if  FCO advises against all travel or non-essential travel overseas, to any destination. Check your insurer’s website and your policy documents to find out what’s covered.  Currently, key questions might include "Am I insured against FCO advice against all travel or all but essential travel?" or "Does my health condition afford me cover under the terms of my policy?".

Rescheduling Flights / Cancellation Refunds

Your airline may allow you to change your flights free of charge. Many of our UK & international clients have already been able to rebook flights free of charge. Check with your airline, which will likely have an FAQ on the website to alleviate the high volume of calls.
